Jay Brekke, DVM

Dr. Brekke is the Founder and medical director of Brekke and currently owns and operates Brekke Veterinary Clinic of Castle Pines and Brekke Veterinary Clinic of Castle Rock.

Dr. Brekke earned is a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. He believes the love for the outdoors is best shared with your dogs. Whether it’s retrievers, pointers, flushers, huskies, shepherds, or other mixed breeds, time outdoors is best spent with dogs. Jay currently has two German Shorthaired Pointers Gweny and Bizzy, and as well as a poodle, Joey.

He was inspired to create Altitude Sport Dog Health to offer sporting dog veterinary advice and support all dog owners. Along with veterinary expertise, he has a wide range of wildlife, hiking, rafting, backpacking, and other outdoor knowledge.

Dr. Brekke also served as an American Veterinary Association Trustee from 2016–2019. He is a proud member of the Veterinary Management Group since 2022, a member of the Colorado Veterinary Association since 2013, and a member of the American Veterinary Association since 2013. He is a Life Member of Pheasants Forever.
